Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band aims to:
  • Enable students from beginners to advanced players, to learn and play a designated instrument well, including understanding and applying the relevant theoretical and practical knowledge;
  • Enable students to learn to play their designated instrument as part of a Symphonic Band;
  • Inculcate values of teamwork and discipline through band programmes and marching drills; and
  • Hone leadership skills through opportunities in planning of events and guidance of their juniors.

To achieve the CCA’s goals, the following programmes are offered:
  • Workshops for Majors and Section Leaders

Marists are given the opportunities to participate in the following events:
  • That Band Concert @ The Esplanade (18 Mar 2016)
  • Visit by Datong High School, Taipei (23 Apr 2016)
  • Labour Day performance at the Istana (1 May 2016)
  • SYF Parade of Bands along Orchard Road (2 Jul 2016)
  • MSHS Founder’s Day (29 Jul 2016)
  • MSHS National Day Celebrations (8 Aug 2016)
  • SYF Band Exchange at St. Margaret’s Secondary School (11 Mar 2017)
  • MSHS Founder’s Day (28 Jul 2017)
  • Marching Display at the MSHS National Day Celebrations (8 Aug 2017)
  • MSHS Open House performance (25 Nov 2017)
  • Values-in-Action Programme with The Salvation Army through a visit to their recycling centre and a free public concert (26 Nov 2017)
  • MSHS 60th Anniversary performance at Singapore Botanic Gardens (30 June 2018)
