School Rules
School rules define acceptable behaviour and dress code for all Marists so that discipline and order is present in the learning environment.
All Marists are to contribute to make the environment conducive for meaningful learning by adhering to the school rules within or outside the school. Consequences will be meted out to Marists who infringe school rules.
I. Daily Morning Assembly

Assemble quietly in the hall.

Put your bags in your classroom before making your way to the hall.

Be in the hall by 7.30 a.m.
II. During the flag-raising ceremony
- Students who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
- Be respectful by standing still with your hands by your side whether you are a Singaporean or not.

Sing the school song and recite the Marist Creed.
- Pay attention when announcements are made.
III. Attire & Appearance
School Uniform

Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform. Modification to the uniform is not allowed.

Put on the school tie every Monday unless you have PE (Physical Education) or PAL (Programme for Active Learning) Lessons on that day.

The name tag is to be sewn above the pocket of your school uniform and displayed at all times.

Replace the name tag if it is lost or damaged. Order forms are available in the General Office.
PE and/or PAL Attire

Wear PE or PAL attire on days when PE or PAL lessons are held.

The name tag is to be sewn above the pocket of the polo PE or PAL t-shirt.
-
No modification to the PE or PAL attire is allowed.
Hairstyle

Students are to be clean shaven, and no wearing of beards and moustache is allowed.

Students are to maintain an acceptable hairstyle:

Simple, tidy and neat

Trimmed at least 2 cm above the collar and sloped up

Short, not touching the eyebrows and the ears
Shoes and Socks

Wear shoes and socks that are totally white.

Wear laced shoes with no velcro parts, except for the P1s.
Necklace and Ring

Wearing necklace(s) or ring(s) to school is not allowed.

Wearing chains for religious purposes is allowed but it must be covered by the collar of the school uniform.
Possession of Weapon-Like Items
- All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.
Handphone Policy
All Marists are strongly encouraged to use the public phones available at the school porch, or in case of emergency, the general office phone to contact their family members. The school understands that parents give their sons the handphone for ease of communication and would allow handphones to be brought into the school under these conditions:

Only P3 to P6 Marists are allowed to bring handphones to school.

Handphones may be brought to school for the sole purpose of making emergency calls or texting messages to parents or guardians. They are NOT to be used for recreational and/or recording purposes at any time.

Handphones must be switched OFF before students enter the school premise in the morning.

Handphones must be locked in the students’ locker the moment they reach the classroom and throughout the day until dismissal (refer to points number 5 and 6) to deter any possibility of theft.

Handphones must not be visible under any circumstances when in school and/or in the school bus, even though they are switched OFF, unless permission is given by the teacher or school authority.

Handphones can be switched on and used strictly to communicate with parents after school dismissal outside school premise and/ or ONLY at the following timing and venue in the school premise:

On Mondays and Tuesdays: after Supplementary/ Remedial lessons (if any)

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: after CCAs (if any)

Venue: Waiting area outside General Office or at the MRT gate.
7. On CCA days, the students are required to surrender their handphones to the teachers on duty.
8. For Learning Journeys during curriculum time and/or extra lessons or CCAs during the holidays, handphones must be kept in the locker or with the teachers on duty until the end of the day unless otherwise stated.
9. If a handphone rings, vibrates, is used for any reason or is visible anytime during school time, recess time, lunch time or if a student is caught using it during class or CCA time while walking around the school, the student will be asked to surrender the handphone to the General Office. The student will be given a Reflection Form to be acknowledged by his parent(s).
10. Refusal to surrender your handphone when asked is considered as defiance. Consequences will be meted out for acts of defiance (e.g. CWO) and parent(s) will be contacted.
11. All handphones are to be labelled and secured with a password lock. Students are responsible for taking care of their personal belongings and bring the handphones to school at their own risk.
12. The school will not bear any responsible for any theft/ loss/ damage of the students’ handphone.
13. Parents/ Guardians may contact their child/ ward via their handphone after school dismissal, CCA, Remedial or Supplementary lessons. In the event of an immediate emergency, please call the main school line at 6282 7743.
